Abu Dhabi Festival continues its mission to support Arab artists on the global stage with the world premiere release of “In the Wee Small Hours”, Kamal’s new single, on 21 February on Abu Dhabi Festival website (https://abudhabifestival.ae/in-the-wee-small-hours/) at 6:00pm, Abu Dhabi time .

Kamal’s raw, emotional take on this jazz-world classic features his soulful vocals and core jazz band in a dusky and intimate setting. The release is part of his new EP, “Late Nights With Omar Kamal”, executive produced by the Festival for release later this year.

Kamal’s world tour, “Show Me the Light”, continues with support from Abu Dhabi Festival later this year in New York at the famous Jazz at Lincoln Centre.

H.E. Huda I. Alkhamis-Kanoo, Founder of the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation and Artistic Director of Abu Dhabi Festival, said: “Throughout its 18 years, Abu Dhabi Festival has cultivated new artists and audiences and expanded the impact of Arab artists abroad. Omar Kamal’s World Tour is a perfect example of the invaluable cultural exchange and rich dialogue that the arts offer. Abu Dhabi Festival is proud to continue bringing Omar’s remarkable work to international audiences live performances and world-premiere recordings.”

“This is where it all started”, said Kamal. “The exclusive and solitary world of jazz ballads allows you to dig deep into the hidden corners of the soul and come out with expressions of that soul in the form of music and song”.
